Features: - One-Point to Two-Point Conversion - This is the primary function of the IAS. Converting from One-Point to Two-Point with great speed and efficiency. Unlike most One to Two-Point Slings, the weapon is never removed from the sling or operator. This provides security for the weapon in that should the operator become startled the weapon will not fall to the ground, but stay attached to the operator. The operator and weapon system are connected 100% of the time during the conversion.
- Rapid Cinch - Allows for slack to removed from sling when weapon is rotated from operating position to back. When weapon is needed, the same strap allows the operator to easily rotate weapon from back to firing position.
- Quick Detach Clasp - A quick detach function was an important design consideration for the IAS. Should the operator need to abandon the weapon for any reason, one push on the quick release clasp allows sling and entire weapon platform to be separated from the operator.
- MASH Hook - A MASH Hook is used to connect the sling to the weapon sling mounts for quick easy use.
- Fit - The IAS is designed to fit just about any size operator out there. The IAS can be adjusted to fit the individual users size via the friction locks.
- Buffer Tube Sling Mount - This strap and mount is included with the IAS for attaching directly to the buffer tube at the rear of the weapon.
- Construction - The entire sling system is created from military grade buckles, one (1) inch nylon webbing and steel MASH hooks. Webbing and buckles are Berry Compliant (see: Berry Admendment USC, Title 10, Section 2533a).
- Versatility - The distance between the Static and Dynamic Hook can be expanded to 26". If the weapon's mounting points are equal or less than this distance, the IAS should be compatible.
- Colors - The IAS is available in Black, Coyote Tan, and Foliage Green.
- Why is it named the "Irene Adaptive Sling"? - The IAS (while in its prototype stage) was first field tested at the Zussman Military Operation Urban Terrain (MOUT) Facility at Ft. Knox, KY during Operation Irene. Operation Irene is a memorial event in honor of those who died in Mogadishu, Somalia, 1993. Mission Spec saw it only too appropriate to dedicate this sling to those fallen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice
