Trinity's Take:
Overall this is nice AEG. The new MTCs are an improvement over Echo's first generation MTC model. The M4 style magwell accommodates and holds M4 magazines as well as an actual M4 style AEG. Plus the addition of the full length metal rail and the new style crane stock really help set this gun apart from others.
We would've liked to see the gun shooting a bit harder (our testing with .20g hit between 345-365fps), but this does make it fairly well rounded for both field and closer quarter battles. The MTC 2 has a longer outer barrel than the MTC 1, but has the same length inner barrel, 247mm. This is a standard length for most 36 style replicas, but the gun will easily accommodate a 363mm and it would've been a nice upgrade. So, you will not see a performance difference between the MTC 1 and MTC 2 models unless you plan to install a longer inner barrel.
Overall, as with most Echo 1s, this is a solid and reliable performer without breaking the bank. Add a reflex or red dot sight and vertical grip and you're good to go.
